Body found in Eleva field

The Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death of a 33-year-old Altoona woman after her body was found last Wednesday in a field south of Eleva.

While the department reported foul play is not suspected, the release sent last Thursday said they were investigating the death of Angela Coffield along with the Altoona Police Department, Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation, Osseo Police Department and Trempealeau County Coroner’s Office. 

A farmer reported finding the body and it was confirmed that it was Coffield, who had been reported missing. The Altoona Police Department reported Coffield was last seen at 8:30 p.m. on July 29. She was found at 4 p.m. last week Wednesday, about a mile south of Eleva in a field off of Highway 93.
