Gaylord L. Hanson

 Gaylord Lloyd Hanson, 93, of Pigeon Falls, and formerly of Blair, died Friday, November 6, 2020, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.

 Gaylord was born November 15, 1926, in Trempealeau County, to Arthur and Gertrude (Ruff) Hanson. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

 Gaylord married Thelma Johnson, February 25, 1948, in Whitehall. Thelma preceded Gaylord in death, July 9, 2008.

 Gaylord was a farmer in American Valley early in his marriage. In 1965, Gaylord and Thelma settled their family in Wyoming, MN., where he became a career truck driver with Consolidated Freightways and retired after 45 years of employment. He then relocated to Blair and enjoyed his retirement.

 Gaylord lived the last eight years of his life in a loving and caring community at Pigeon Falls Health Care Center. Thank you all so much for taking care of our Dad!

 Gaylord is survived by six sons: Don (Sabina), Jerry (Cherie), Mike (Bonnie), Jim, Jeff (Lisa) and Steve (Becky); three daughters: Sandy, Karen (Sam) and Debi (Dan); 21 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

 In addition to his parents and wife, Gaylord was preceded in death by two brothers: Ardell and Donnie; two sisters: Lila Klink and Verna Gilbertson; and two grand-sons: Chad and Travis Hanson.

 Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 14, 2020, at 1:00 p.m., at Jack Funeral Home with burial at Rest Haven Cemetery, both in Blair. Vicar Paul Sannerud will officiate. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the Knudtson-Mattison American Legion Post #231. Facial coverings and social distancing will be required.

 Friends may call one hour prior to the service.

 Gaylord and Thelma left a large footprint in the world to continue their legacy.

 Memorials may be designated to the Alzheimer’s Association.

 Jack Funeral Home in Blair is assisting the family with arrangements.
