Hilltoppers pull away from Raiders

In a matchup of two of the area's top teams, the Arcadia girls basketball team couldn't keep up.The Raiders trailed Onalaska by six at halftime, but couldn't get going in the second half as the Hilltoppers stayed ahead and won by nine.

The loss dropped Arcadia to 12-3 on the season, while improving Onalaska to 12-4. Arcadia was slated to play another non-conference game at Altoona this week Monday before heading to Viroqua on Thursday. The Raiders return home for a game against Eleva-Strum on Friday before heading to La Crosse Logan next Tuesday and Black River Falls next Friday. Onalaska 55 Arcadia 46 The outside shots weren't falling for the Arcadia girls basketball team as they fell to Unalaska. Arcadia made four three pointers in the game, three of which came in the first half as they trailed 27-21 at halftime. They went ice cold in the second half with just one three as they struggled to keep up with Unalaska. Linzy Sendelbach did much of the scoring for Arcadia as she finished with 19 points, 11 of which came at the free-throw line on 18 attempts. Ellie Hoesley added 11 for Arcadia as Chloe Halverson scored nine, Hannah Suchla finished with five and Abby Suchla scored two.
