Ettrick Memorial Day ceremony to be held

The Runnestrand-Pederson American Legion Post 354 of Ettrick has announced there will be an abbreviated Memorial Day Service on Memorial Day in Ettrick.

Legionnaires will meet at Gametime Park at 10:20 a.m. and march to the Bank Parking Lot and Legion Veteran Cemetery at 10:45 a.m. where there will be an abbreviated ceremony at 11 a.m. including a reading of local veterans names who have passed this past year, a rifle salute, taps and prayer.

Social distancing will be adhered too, and it’s asked that those attending also respect and adhere to social distancing standards. 

The Ettrick Lions will also be selling BBQ Chicken after the ceremony downtown. These are “to-go” orders, curbside pick-up. Those buying chicken are asked to please respect others and maintain an appropriate distance if there is a line. 

A release sent by the legion post said: “Your support is appreciated and needed more than ever. Both organizations thank you and hope all are able to safely observe and enjoy the holiday weekend during these extraordinary times.”
