Celebration to honor ‘Father Woody’ planned

Independence and Whitehall residents are planning a celebration to honor Father Woodrow Pace who is leaving Ss. Peter and Paul and St John’s Catholic Churches at the end of the month.
Pace’s last mass will be at 10:15 a.m. on July 26 at SSPP. Following mass, a social with appetizers will be held until 1 p.m. before lunch is served. A final program and farewell will be at 2 p.m.
In addition to saying goodbye to Pace, the event will also celebrate his 25th ordination anniversary.

Pace has served the area for 10 years, coming over from Neillsville. He will be transferring to La Crosse and will be replaced by Fr. George Thomas Thayilkuzhithottu.
