Altoona bests Arcadia to stay in gridiron playoff hunt

The Altoona Railroaders are still in the hunt for a playoff spot after taking down Arcadia in a Coulee Conference football game last week.
Altoona limited Arcadia to 97 total yards on offense on Friday in a game they approached (395) the 400-yard mark.
The Railroaders will need to beat Westby this Friday to qualify for the postseason, while Arcadia can prevent rival G-E-T from advancing to the postseason with a win over the Red Hawks this week.
Altoona (4-4 overall, 3-3 Coulee) held a 22-6 lead at halftime against Arcadia, and the visiting Railroaders added two more scores in the second half to put the Raiders (2-6, 0-6 Coulee) away.
Ted Teske had the Raiders’ lone score.
Arcadia senior Max Blaschko was the Raiders’ most productive player on offense with 30 rushing yards, and Maverick Drazkowski had 19 yards on the ground.
Leif Brion and Hunter Hibbard of Altoona combined for 200 yards on the ground and three touchdowns to lead Altoona offensively. Max Sobbotta finished with a team-high seven tackles to lead the Arcadia defense.
