Arcadia brushes aside West Salem

Tucker Bambenek and Deklyn Grzadzielewski each had big nights at the plate and Prestin Scow was in lockdown mode on the mound to help Arcadia (4-2) power past West Salem Post 51 last Tuesday in West Salem.

Ben Lightfoot smacked an RBI double in the top of the first to start the scoring for Post 17, who added another run in the third on a Bambenek RBI single. West Salem cut that deficit in half with a run scored on an error in the fourth.

Bambenek delivered another RBI single in the fifth and Arcadia’s final two runs came in the seventh on back-to-back RBI singles by Bambenek and Max Sobotta.

Scow was superb in the victory, tossing seven innings in which he gave up a single unearned run on six hits, three walks and a hit batter while punching out five.

Bambenek went 3 for 4 with three RBIs, Grzadzielewski finished 3 for 4 with three runs scored and Lightfoot was 2 for 3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored.

Late this week, Arcadia hosts a Thursday doubleheader with G-E-T starting at 5 p.m. and then is on the road to face Onalaska for a doubleheader next Tuesday starting at 5 p.m. as well.
