Arcadia recreation center hearing set

Arcadia residents will be able to voice their opinions on the fate of the city’s recreation center on East Main Street at a public hearing next Wednesday.

The meeting will be held in the Arcadia High School auditorium at 5:30 p.m.

City officials are considering whether to continue to fund use of the building now that so many recreational activities have moved to the Wanek Center. The center costs the city about $8,000 in utilities and needs several repairs. The city also does not have available staff to clean the building.
