County committee backs administrator

Members of the county's personnel committee and the board chair all gave their support to the new county administrator following "inappropriate" public criticism of her by the coroner.

Committee members and board chair John Aasen signed a statement Tuesday that "we support our County Administrator's efforts to drive positive organizational change."

"Accountability and continuous improvement are essential to maintaining a productive and healthy workplace, and we trust her leadership in identifying areas for growth," the statement continues. "Change can be challenging, but it's necessary to better serve our communities, and we remain committed to fostering an open, respectful work environment.”

County coroner Bonnie Kindschy at Monday evening's board of supervisors meeting criticized Administrator Rebecca Glewen as a "bully" for how she handled her efforts to reorganize county government.

"In hindsight," Aasen said, "I should have required that (the coroner) stop. It was not only inaccurate information but shared in a highly inappropriate manner."
