County K9 helps bust man with drugs near Osseo

Trempealeau County K-9 Luke helped detect marijuana and methamphetamine in a car, leading to the arrest of Danny Reynolds of New Hope, Minn. on Saturday.

Luke was deployed to a traffic stop on Interstate 94 near mile marker 88 in the town of Sumner at 1:48 a.m. that day. After officers observed what a press release said were “several indicators of criminal activity,” the K9 unit was used to search a vehicle. Luke alerted officers that there may be substances in the vehicle.

Upon searching the vehicle, the release said officers located two large duffle bags which contained approximately 30 pounds of what officers suspect is marijuana and one pound of suspected methamphetamine. Reynolds was taken to Trempealeau County Jail, but had not yet officially been charged as of Tuesday morning.

The Wisconsin State Patrol and Osseo Police Department assisted with the stop.
