County K9 helps make ‘coke’ bust
A Trempealeau County K9 helped uncover $20,000 worth of cocaine, leading to the arrest of two Chicago men after a traffic stop on Interstate 94 near Osseo,
The stop and bust occurred on March 24, according to the press release which sent a week later by the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Department. The release said a county deputy observed several traffic violations before making the stop.
During the traffic stop, K9 Luke was deployed and alerted officers to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. A search revealed 300 grams of cocaine — with an estimated street value of $20,000 — inside a hidden void in the vehicle.
Dajuan Cortez Thomas, 33, and Lucious Thomas, 52, were taken into custody and charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine. Dajuan Cortez Thomas made his initial appearance in Trempealeau County Circuit Court on Thursday of last week.
