Crash leaves one with severe injuries

Police seek information on possible second vehicle

One subject was flown to a hospital in La Crosse with what were described as severe injuries sustained in a one-car rollover near Whitehall on Sunday. 

According to a press release sent by the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office, a driver of the vehicle was ejected during the crash on US Highway 53/121, north of Schansberg Road at 10 a.m. The subject, whose name had not been released as of press time, was air lifted by Mayo One to Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse. 

A six-year-old passenger had minor injuries and was treated at the scene before being released to her father, the release said. 

Police reported that evidence at the scene indicated that a second vehicle may have been involved. Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to call the Trempealeau County Dispatch Center at 715-538-2341. 

Assisting agencies were police and fire departments from Whitehall, the Pigeon Falls Fire Department, first responders from both Whitehall and Pigeon Falls, Gundersen Tri-County Ambulance and Mayo One. 

The release said that several people stopped to render aid after the crash.
