An archaeological excavation conducted by Ernie Boszhardt and Danielle Benden began in Trempealeau last Friday. The husband and wife team have found numerous Native American artifacts in the village over the last decade and recently learned that there may be more in the lower part of the village. The excavation of the Duck Pond revealed numerous artifacts, which brought the team back to Trempealeau, where they searched until Tuesday of this week.
