Franzwa tabbed as next superintendent

The Independence School District announced Monday night that Paul Franzwa has accepted an offer to take over as the district superintendent following the 2021-22 school year.
Franzwa is currently the elementary school principal at Mondovi, but worked as a middle school teacher in Independence from 1999-2003. Last month he was announced as a finalist along with current Independence 4K-8 principal Rob Vanderloop.
Franzwa will take over for Bärry Schmitt, who will retire following the school year.
