One week out from the Coulee Conference Championship track and field meet, the trend continues for the Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School girls’ team–win today’s meet, move on to the next one, repeat.

They hoped to keep that trend going when they joined Arcadia in a meet at Melrose-Mindoro on Monday before both schools head to Westby on Saturday for a chance at a Coulee title.

Adrianna Rotering won the mile for the Red Hawks at last Friday’s invitational meet in West Salem and was joined in the winners’ circle by Jordan Stanislowski in the high jump as well as the 400 meter relay team of Grace Shanley, Kayli Bratberg, Alayna Stendahl and Stanislowski.

The Red Hawks earned the top spot with 141 points, followed by Westby in second with 108. West Salem finished third with 96.83 points to round out the top three.

Kaylee Hauge collected a good chunk of points for G-E-T, taking second in the 100 and 400 meter races, also adding a third place finish in the 200. Rotering placed second in the 800 meter run, and G-E-T added runner-up finishes from its 800 and 1600 meter relay teams.

Senior Quinn Wenthe added to the point totals for G-E-T with a second place finish in the high jump and 300 meter hurdles, also contributing with a third place run of the 100-meter hurdles. The other third place finishes for G-E-T included in the open 800 meter run from Tauna Janssen–who was part of the 1600 relay team–and the Red Hawks’ 3200 relay.

Ryan Sokup and Drew Teske racked up the points for Arcadia on the boys’ side to lead the Raiders to a third place finish with 86 points. The only teams to beat them were the host Panthers at 120 and Luther with 97.

Sokup had a busy day, winning both the 100 and 200 meter dash events, adding on a win in the 800 relay alongside senior classmate Joe Nelson and sophomores Joel Fernando and Landan Bremer.

Teske pulled his weight, too, joining Nelson, Fernando and Bremer to finish first in the 1600 relay while also adding a pair of third place finishes in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles. Jose Monroy rounded out the top three finishes for Arcadia, beaten only by Eli Boppart of Mauston in the 3200 meter run.

The Red Hawk boys tied for sixth place with Westby at 59 team points. They were beaten by  West Salem (120), Luther (97), Arcadia (86), Mauston (79) and Wisconsin Dells (66).

Carter Gold won the 800 meter run, and G-E-T had a pair of second place finishes from Caleb Lightfoot in the triple jump and Sam Ruiter in the 1600 meter race. Gold also joined teammates Ethan and Xander Burmeister as well as Lance Jumbeck to finish third in the 3200 relay.

Arcadia got a ninth place finish from its girls’ team, scoring 22 points as a team. They beat Luther (20), Viroqua (10.5) and Nekoosa (8.5) and finished just behind Black River Falls (28.5).

Junior Tegan Michalak earned Arcadia’s lone win, winning the 3200 meter race by 26 seconds. The team’s 1600 relay team of Sky Reit, Kianna Suchla, Casidi Pehler and Jacy Boberg finished shortly after G-E-T to take third.
