Galesville finalizes city sign upgrade

Three Galesville pillars are coming together to freshen up the city ‘Welcome’ signs.

Total costs for the purchase and installation of the signs will be $44,845, not including permit fees with the county—signs from La Crosse Sign Group will cost $33,495 with an $11,100 installation quote from the Reedy Foundation and a $250 permit fee.

Costs will be split evenly between the city, the Galesville Chamber of Commerce and the Galesville Lions Club with each paying $14,948.33.

The current signs are more than 20 years old, Mayor Vince Howe told the Times Thursday, also saying a target date for the new signs has not yet been received.

The council approved the change with a 5-0 vote. Councilor Tory-Kale Schulz abstained.
