Health officials report another COVID death

The Trempealeau County Health Department has, for the second week in a row, deemed COVID-19 to be the cause of death for a county resident.

The death, reported last Thursday, is the 51st  in the county since the pandemic began in early 2020. Eight of the deaths have happened since the disease activity picked back up in mid-July after a mostly dormant spring and summer.

In addition to the death, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported 114 new cases last week. That number is down considerably from the 181 reported two weeks ago, but still among the 10 highest totals reported in 2021.
