One streak ended and another began for the Independence girls basketball team, which won all three of its games last week.
The first win, a 45-36 victory over Alma/Pepin ended what was a five-game losing streak for the Indees. It began a three-game winning streak as the team defeated New Auburn 40-23 on Thursday and Gilmanton 49-28 on Friday.
The wins put the Indees at 8-12 overall and 3-8 in Dairyland Conference play, behind Alma Center Lincoln (10-3) and Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran (5-6) in the Small Division.
The last week of the regular season figures to be a tough one for the Indees as they hosted DC-Large leading Blair-Taylor on Tuesday and AC Lincoln on Thursday.
As the 11th seed in their Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association bracket the Indees will play at Eleva-Strum to open tournament play on Tuesday. The winner of that game will likely play at (3) AC Lincoln on Friday with the regional final set for next Saturday.
