Man charged for threats with gun

An Arcadia man is facing five counts of recklessly endangering safety after allegedly pointing a gun and threatening people in Blair.

Douglas Stegerwald, 59, was arrested Sunday after a Saturday night incident at 144 W. Mill Road in Blair where he was reportedly intoxicated and pointed a gun at several people, including juveniles, according to a press release sent by the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s De-partment.

After receiving the report at 8:44 p.m. Saturday, deputies arrived on scene and found that Stegerwald had already left. They were unable to locate him that night, but made contact the next day and arrested him. Deputies then executed a search warrant of Stegerwald’s resi-dence and found a loaded pistol that matched the description of the weapon used in Blair.

The release said the sheriff’s department believes it to be an isolated incident.

No court dates had been set as of Monday.
