Man in jail for alleged assault

A man who allegedly has 17 aliases and was previously deported has been charged with the sexual assault of two Arcadia girls.

Mauricio Vasquez Mendoza, 46, of 1334 East Wilson St., is charged with three felony accounts of sexual contact with a person under the age of 13.  He was in Trempealeau County jail Monday in lieu of $7,500 cash bond. He is scheduled for an initial appearance in court Aug. 15.

Mendoza is alleged to have had sexual contact with two girls, one 13 and one 11, from May 15 through July 15, according to court records. Prosecutors argued for the cash bail amount because of the man’s number of aliases, a criminal record and deportations, court records say.
