One arrested after machete attack

One person was arrested for allegedly using a machete in a fight that involved between 20 and 30 people, according to a press release issued by the Arcadia Police Department.

The department declined to provide the names of any of the individuals, including the subject who was arrested, in the release, which was issued on Sunday. A call made to the police department requesting more information was not returned.

The fight was reported to the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office dispatch center at 1:09 a.m. on Saturday, with callers reporting 20 or 30 people feuding at the Memorial Park Pavilion. At least one of the people who called reported that a subject involved in the fight had a machete.

Upon arrival, the release said several people were injured and four were taken by ambulance to Tri-County Hospital in Whitehall with non-life-threatening injuries.

The release said the subject who reportedly had the machete was located and arrested at 10:35 a.m. on Sunday.

Police said the incident is still under investigation and encouraged anybody with information to contact the department by calling 608-323-3359.
