Osseo-Fairchild overcomes Blair-Taylor baseball

A two-inning swing last Monday was enough of a cushion for the Blair-Taylor High School baseball team to fall to 0-2 this season.

The Wildcats and Osseo-Fairchild battled through the first three innings of Monday’s game, with neither team finding a way to score before the visiting Thunder broke through in the fourth inning.

Blair-Taylor got itself into trouble when numerous walks led to a four-run inning from the Thunder. The visitors followed it up with four more runs in the fifth inning, and Blair-Taylor was unable to respond.

The Wildcats got runners on the base paths, but coach Jesse Lien said his team was unable to break through and get their batters home. Senior Cain Fremstad led Blair-Taylor on offense, going two-f0r-three with a double.

Blair-Taylor was scheduled to host G-E-T this Monday and Alma Center Lincoln on Tuesday before they visit Melrose-Mindoro on Thursday.
