Raider boys fifth at Marshfield meet

With two top-30 finishers, the Arcadia boys cross country team finished fifth at the 22-team Nightfall Classic in Marshfield on Friday.

Nestor Badillo led the team, taking 16th overall while Peyton Nelson finished 26th. Cole Lockington barely missed the top 30, taking 32nd while Ivan Aguilar gave the team four finishers inside the top 50 by taking 48th. The team’s fifth runner was Matthew Badillo, who finished 78th. 

Arcadia’s 188 team points were well behind meet champion Shakopee’s 80, but well ahead of sixth-place Rice Lake’s 215. 

The Arcadia girls cross country team finished at the bottom of the 16-team field. 

Linsy Cruz led the team, taking 14th out of 207 runners. Britney Aguilar finished 177th; Nayeli Reyes, 187th; Rae Schaffner, 200th and Andi Pronschinske was 205th. 

The race is run mostly in the dark as the girls race began at 7:30 p.m. and the boys at 8:10. 

The Arcadia teams are slated to run again on Saturday, competing at Maple Grove course in West Salem.
