The Return of Summer Fun

Arcadia’s downtown area was full again on Saturday for the Broiler-Dairy Days parade, hosted by the Arcadia Lions Club. That parade — along with all the other festivals in the area — was cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While the crowd was slightly smaller and there were fewer floats, those who attended experienced a return to normalcy. Attendees waved American flags handed out by the Arcadia boy scouts and danced to some polka music with the La Crosse Oktoberfest float.

The parade was just one of the events that continued this year after a year off in 2020. The softball fields in Memorial Park were full on Saturday, while a bags tournament was held and several volleyball courts were set up in the grass by the pavilion with matches being played from sunrise to sunset.
