Three from area playing in softball all-star game

After helping their teams deep into Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association tournament play, three area softball players suited up one last time earlier this week.

Alivia Boe of Blair-Taylor, Emerson Pronshinske of Independence/Gilmanton and Hailey Sonsalla are three seniors who took part in the Wisconsin Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association All-Star game at Woodside Sports Complex in Wisconsin Dells on Tuesday of this week.

Boe was the starting catcher for the Blair-Taylor softball team, helping them to a 28-1 record and a trip to the WIAA State Tournament. Boe hit .411 for the Wildcats with nine doubles and 20 RBIs.

Joining Boe on the Division 4/5 White Team will be conference rival Emerson Pronschinske. The Independence High School graduate helped the Indees advance to the sectional final round, where they fell 3-2, just missing out on a state tournament appearance. She was the team’s pitcher, going 9-9 on the season with a 3.877 earned run average. She also hit .486 at the plate with 10 doubles and 19 RBIs. 

The Arcadia softball team fell to eventual state runner-up Prescott in the sectional semifinal with Sonsalla helping lead the team as the shortstop. Sonsalla hit .310 for the Raiders with 14 RBIs and 12 runs scored. She will play for the Division 2/3 Gray Team.
