Times awarded in state contest

The Trempealeau County Times received two awards in the Wisconsin Newspaper Association Foundation Better Newspaper Contest.

Associate editor Zac Bellman received a second place award in the Weekly Sports Colum Category for his column The Whole Nine Yards. The three entries submitted were titled: To the Class of 2020: A Time As This; Kneelers Love America More Than You and Once More Down Lens.

This was the third award Bellman has received since joining the staff of the Times in 2017.

Also honored was managing editor Andrew Dannehy, receiving third place in the Investigative Reporting category for a story titled: Details on discipline of Blair police chief released last week. This is the sixth award Dannehy has received from the WNAF.

Eligible entries were published between Sept. 1, 2019, and Aug. 31, 2020, and were judged by members of the Texas Press Association.
