Whitehall golfers, city reach accord
The city and the Whitehall Golfers Association agreed to continue the group’s lease of the Whitehall Public Golf Course.
The agreement finalized in May keeps most previous provisions, including the city’s commitment to provide $42,000 for maintenance and utilities, according to Mayor Jeff Hauser. The new lease begins June 15 and would end if either the city or the association gave notice to terminate it.
The new lease comes two and a half years after the association hit financial problems, and the city set up a plan whereby the association paid back loans for cost overruns on course improvements.
The nine-hole course opened for the season in April.
