Woman injured after hitting parked cars
Hitting the accelerator pedal instead of the brake left one woman injured after a crash with two parked cars on Sunday.
According to a release from the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Department, Lisa Humfeld, 58, Trempealeau, was driving in the parking lot of Boondocks Bar and Grill, County Road M in the town of Caledonia, when she accidentally pushed the gas pedal instead of the brake. Humfeld’s vehicle then hit two legally parked vehicles in the parking lot.
The release said Humfeld was transported to a hospital in La Crosse with a shoulder injury. The passenger in Humfeld’s vehicle was not injured and the parked vehicles were unoccupied.
The incident, which occurred at approximately 11:19 a.m., remains under investigation. Assisting agencies were the Trempealeau Fire Department, Trempealeau First Responders and Tri-State Ambulance.
