Wildcat girl team, tops Gilmanton, Cashton

Another pair of wins have the Blair-Taylor girls basketball team back on track entering the latter stages of the season.

Last Monday the Wildcats traveled to Gilmanton to pick up a Dairyland Conference win, earning the sweep of their two matchups on the year. Then on Saturday, B-T ended their week with a win over Cashton at home.

B-T traveled to Brookwood on Monday before returning home on Tuesday to host Independence. Their schedule ahead includes another pair of Dairyland games including a home matchup on Thursday against Cochrane-Fountain City, and a Monday contest at Whitehall. 

B-T 65 Gilmanton 42

A matchup of Dairyland Small teams went the Wildcats’ way thanks in part to a breakout game from Lindsay Steien. 

A season-high 32 points from the freshman, including 16 in each half, helped B-T out to a 28-17 halftime lead. 

Marlee Nehring added 15 points on the game, followed by eight from Abby Thompson, five from Kierstyn Kindschy, four from Lauren Kidd and one from Chloe Wagner.

B-T 66 Cashton 51

Four in double-figures led the Wildcats to victory over Cashton in a non-conference battle Saturday afternoon at home. 

Steien led the charge with 21, followed by Kidd’s 15 and Thompson and Nehring each with 11, while Chloe Wagner added eight. B-T led 36-27 at half, and withstood an early second-half run from  Cashton to lead 49-41 midway through the half.
