Art show, concert offered at Old Main

Old Main Historical and Community Arts Center in Galesville will be the venue for the Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau School District wide youth art month art show and a classical concert benefit by Dr. Eric Brisson of Winona State University Saturday.

The art show will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Doors will open for the concert at 6:30 p.m. so that concert goers may also see the art before the concert begins at 7:30.

Artwork from all the schools in the G-E-T district will be displayed on all three floors of the building.  Treats will be offered, and there will be a scavenger hunt.  There’s also a chance to win a basket filled with art supplies.  This will be an opportunity to see an impressive collection of the artwork being done by the students in our district.   Admission to the art show is free.

Brisson’s concert on the Steinway piano will be selections from the work of Bach and Chopin. Dr. Brisson was the first to suggest that the Old Main venue be offered as an off-campus venue for music students.  Proceeds from benefit performances help support the “Gale Star” program, so that Old Main can be open for the utilization of student artists and performers.

Old Main is located at 20869 College Ave. in Galesville.
