Arcadia soccer has perfect week to get back to .500

The Arcadia High School boys soccer team had as close to an ideal week as one will see in prep sports last week.

The Raiders won all three of their games and scored 11 goals across the three games, getting their season record back to even at 3-3.

Arcadia is scheduled to visit Chippewa Falls on Tuesday before hosting a triangular tournament against McDonell/Regis and Pacelli on Saturday.

Arcadia 1 Menomonie 0

One goal was all it took for Arcadia to earn its first win of the season last Tuesday in Menomonie.

Andree Gonzalez scored the lone goal in the 18th minute of the first half.

Arcadia 5 Mauston 1

A hat trick from Kenny Vasquez in the first half of Thursday’s home opener against Mauston was enough of a cushion to lead the Raiders to their second straight win.

Vasquez scored three goals in eight minutes to pace Arcadia. The Raiders also got a game-opening goal from Gonzalez, who added another in the 58th minute.

A goal from Mauston’s Braydon Weyh stopped any shutout hopes for the Raiders in the 45th minute.

Friday kept the wins coming for the Raiders in their second home win in as many days.

Ricardo Juarez took a pass from teammate Bayron Urbina late in the first half, opening the scoring in the 33rd minute. Gonzalez added two more goals, one in each half to give Arcadia a three-goal lead.

The Raiders closed out the scoring with goals from Miguel Posada (57th minute) and Juarez (65th minute).
