B-T boys fifth at Durand meet

With two top-15 finishes, the Blair-Taylor boys cross country team finished fifth out of 12 teams at the Durand-Arkansaw Invitational in Durand last Thursday.

Kristopher Sandal finished third for the Wildcats in the race won by Ian Hazen of Elk Mound with Nolan Reese of Kickapoo/La Farge taking second. Sandal was about nine seconds behind Reese. 

Deloroean Peterson was second for B-T, finishing 13th overall while Jacob Olson was 32nd, Ryan Flynn, 38th; Ben Kidd, 84th; Riley Gunderson, 87th and Juan Lopez, 96th.

Whitehall finished 11th, led by Titus Buhl’s 50th-place finish. Brayden Lisowski was second on the team and 65th overall followed by Oriah Anderson, 76th; Matthew Poulos, 80th Ashton Hanson, 100th and Theodore Mikesell, 101st. 

Charlie Baize was Independence/Gilmanton’s only runner, finishing 63rd overall.

The I/G girls team finished eighth out of 11 teams, led by Taylor Sylla’s 13th-place finish. Grace Rombalski finished 20th followed by Leah Sylla, 44th; Angie Matute, 65th; Kia Back, 68th; Bianca Najera, 76th and Andi Laehn, 85th.

B-T had three runners, led by EmmaLee Johnson, who finished 49th, Ella Halverson was 54th and Kelsey Lien was 77th.
