Arcadia teams sweep B-T cross country meet

The Arcadia cross country teams took the top spots in the Blair-Taylor meet held last week Tuesday.

The Arcadia boys edged the host team by two points thanks to the depth of their team.

While B-T had the top two runners in the race, Arcadia had the next three with Nestor Badillo finishing third before Andy Monroy and Peyton Nelson crossed the finish line. Ival Aguilar was ninth and Nestor Badillo was 12th, rounding out Arcadia’s top five. Irbin Ortiz and Caden Dahl finished 13th and 16th, respectively.

Kristoffer Sandal was the individual champion, finishing about 50 seconds before teammate Delorean Peterson. Jacob Olson was eighth for the Wildcats while Ryan Flynn took 10th, Riley Lopez, 11th; Anthony Oldendorf, 18th and Ben Kidd, 25th.

The Arcadia girls were the only team with enough runners to qualify for a team score. They also had the individual champion in Tegan Michalak. The other Arcadia runners finished eighth-through-11th in the 11-runner race, starting with Edith Gonzalez, followed by Nayeli Reyes, Galy Barragan and Getsemani Maldonado.

Emmalee Johnson was third for B-T, while Ella Halverson took fourth.

Runners from Black River Falls, Eleva-Strum and Alma Center Lincoln also competed in the meet.
