Westby dominates All-CC net team

After an undefeated record in conference play, Westby had four players named to the All-Coulee Conference Volleyball Team, announced recently.

The teams included local players as Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau’s Elyse Schoonover was a second-team All-CC pick while teammate Jordan Stanislowski was honorable mention. Arcadia’s Kealey Ziegeweid, Kaitlyn Bremer and Casidi Pehler were all honorable mention.

Westby had the conference player of the year in Jayda Berg along with first-team picks Emily Collins, Bethany Roethel and Tricia Klum. Kennedy Brueggen and Olivia Nedland were second-team picks for the Norse. Westby went 33-2 on the season, falling to St. Croix Falls in the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Division Three sectional final. 

Joining the Westby athletes on the first team were Jaden Hammes, West Salem; Hannah Matzke, Luther and Mara Anderson, Viroqua. Other second-team picks were Kendall Burkhamer, Anna McConkey and Reese Sackett, West Salem and Bryne Swenson of Viroqua. 

Westby finished 12-0 in CC play ahead of West Salem, 10-2; Viroqua, 6-6; Luther, 5-7; Arcadia, 4-8; G-E-T, 4-8 and Black River Falls, 1-11.
