Norse girls fall to B-T, Augusta

The Whitehall girls basketball team had a difficult time sticking with two Dairyland Conference opponents last week.

The Norse actually stuck with Blair-Taylor about as well as any team had up until that point when the two teams played last week Tuesday. The Wildcats, however, went on a run and won the game 89-48 (see story elsewhere in Sports). Whitehall struggled in the first half against Augusta as they trailed by 13 at the intermission of a game they lost 57-38.

At 2-3 on the season — 0-3 in DC play — the Norse were set to play at Eleva-Strum on Thursday before heading to Cochrane-Fountain City this coming Tuesday.

Aubrey Korger and Kennedy Korger combined to score 22 points in the first half as Whitehall’s entire team managed 21.

Norah Youngbauer and Olivia Killian tried to keep the Norse in the game as they combined for 15 points in the first half, but their team still trailed by 13. It didn’t get better in the second half as the Norse managed 17 points as Augusta pulled away.

Kennedy Korger finished with a game-high 19 points while Kennedy Korger added 11. Both Youngbauer and Killian scored 13 for the Norse. Ashlyn Clatt added four, Haili Sluga, three; Trinity Aasen and Mia Sygulla, two and Edi Matejka, one.
