Red Hawk girls drop two in girls hoops action

The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School girls basketball team dropped a pair of games last week, one against a top area team and the other against nonconference foe Altoona.

West Salem took care of business against the Red Hawks on Tuesday, and the Railroaders edged G-E-T, 67-45, on Friday. No further information from Friday’s game was reported to the Times. 

The Red Hawks (1-7 overall, 1-2 Coulee Conference) are scheduled to visit Blair-Taylor this Thursday.

West Salem 71, G-E-T 21

The unbeaten Panthers (6-0, 4-0) got points from 11 different players and cruised to a 38-9 lead at halftime last Tuesday.

The Red Hawks got five points from Navaeh Becker, while West Salem was led by Anna McConkey’s 15-point night.
