Ronald “Ron” K. Swenson

Ronald Keith Swenson, 73, of Strum, and formerly of Blair, died Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Family Circle Assisted Living in Strum.

Ron was born September 19, 1949, to Harold L. and Marion B. (Holstad) Swenson. Ron served in the U.S. Army, spending a lot of his time in the service as a drummer with the Army Band. He enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycle, shooting pool, spending time on the farm and hunting with his nieces. Ron loved to make others laugh with his many jokes. Ron owned and operated Swenson’s Bar in Blair from 1979-1994, along with his brother, Steve.

Ron is survived by his daughter, Chelsea (Garrett) Vorce of Mondovi; two brothers: Steve (Patricia Hotchkiss) Swenson of Taylor and Dale (Cindy) Swenson of Blair; nieces and nephews: Amber, Jenna, Renae, Scott and Mark; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by a brother, Michael.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Theresa Olson and all of the staff at Family Circle in Strum for their kindness, loving care and friendship.

Graveside services will be held Friday, April 21, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at Rest Haven Cemetery in Blair with Pastor Paul Sannerud officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Knudtson-Mattison American Legion Post #231.

A luncheon and Celebration of Life will be held after the services at the Preston Town Hall in Blair, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Jack Funeral Home in Blair is assisting the family with arrangements.
