Local team to compete in NAFA World Series
My Second Home Bar and Grill of Pigeon Falls will play in the North American Fastpitch Association (NAFA) World Series in Eau Claire this week.
The World Series is played at Carson Park with games beginning on Thursday and continuing through Sunday. My Second Home’s first game will be at 3 p.m. on Thursday against Marshall Lighting from Michigan and the local team will play again against The Bar Blues from Madison at 7 p.m.
Seeded playoff games begin Friday and run all day Saturday. The finals will be played on Sunday with games at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Games will be played on the Gelein and Hobbs fields in the park.
My Second Home began this week with a 2-3 record in Dairyland Men’s Fastpitch Softball League play. Weiner’s Bar of Ettrick is leading the league at 6-0 followed by La Crosse Athletics/Wason’s Supper Club, 3-3 and Pleasantville Lions, 3-5. Foster Fireside Bar and Grill has a 1-4 record in league play.
The Dairyland league playoffs will be held Aug. 22 and 24 with the site yet to be determined.
Local teams will also play at the My Second Home tournament held as part of Beef and Dairy Days in Whitehall. In addition to the Dairyland league teams, East End Bar and Ritter Hardware are scheduled to field teams in the tournament, which begin next week Saturday, Aug. 19, morning. Games continue on Sunday with the championship scheduled to be played at 5 p.m.
