Area municipalities to hold joint meeting over Trempealeau parkland development

Three county municipalities will meet this fall to plan for the proposed multimillion dollar parkland coming to Trempealeau.

A joint board meeting will be held next month between the Village of Trempealeau, the Township of Trempealeau and Township of Caledonia. The meeting will be held at the Trempealeau Township building.

Trempealeau Village Administrator Isaac Pooler said the agenda for the meeting will need to be decided, but the purpose of the meeting is to continue planning for the proposed 20-acre park addition in Trempealeau that could bring ball fields and other outdoor amenities to the area.

Pooler recently attended meetings of the other municipalities telling them about the village’s goals for the parkland and wanting the project to benefit the area as a whole, Pooler said at last Thursday’s village board meeting.

“I think it’s a good idea just to open communication and build relationships with them and hopefully get their support in projects like the park and even the pool, something that benefits all three of our residents,” Pooler told the board.

The meeting will be open to the public, but no date has been decided as of last week.
