Michael “Mike” J. Warner

Michael “Mike” John Warner, 83, of Spooner, died at home on Bass Lake, November 8, 2023, after a struggle against Alzheimer’s Disease.

Mike was born to Donald and Charlotte (Anderson), April 9, 1940, in Whitehall. Like most boys of the era, he developed a great love of all things outdoors. He graduated from WHS in May 1958, leaving home to attend UW-Stevens Point. In 1960, Mike joined the U.S. Army Reserves.

On August 4, 1962, Mike wed JoAnn Kay Carlson in Whitehall. Together they created homes in several communities. They settled in River Falls, a great place to raise a family for 30 years. While there, Mike worked in the finance industry and was a founding member of the Kinnic Bass Masters Club. The Warner’s retreat was a cabin on the shores of Bass Lake, eventually building a year-round home and moving to Spooner full time.

Mike is survived by his wife, JoAnn; son, John Michael Warner of Eagan, MN; his sister, Charlene Warner (David Holtfreter) Mondovi; brother, Patrick (Sherri) Warner of Whitehall; and sister-in-law, Julie Warner of Pigeon Falls. He shared his love with many nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law on both sides of the family.

Mike was preceded in death by his cherished daughter, Karen Ann; his parents; along with his brother, David C. Warner.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Lakeside Community Lutheran Church, 28626 County Road H, Webster, WI 54893. Visitation begins at 10:30 a.m., with service at 11:30 a.m.

Memorials to the church where Mike loved singing in the choir or to Spooner Alzheimer’s Respite Program are appreciated.
