Susan J. Teska
Susan Jean Teska, 80, of Whitehall, died Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Pigeon Falls Health Care Center.
Susan was born February 14, 1943, in Galesville, to Joseph and Alice (Gunderson) Stellflue. She married the love of her life, Richard F. Teska, November 11, 1961, at Saint Bridget’s Catholic Church in Ettrick.
Susan graduated from Gale-Ettrick High School where she was voted homecoming queen. She was an active member of Saint John’s Catholic Church. Her hobbies included camping, fishing, baking, quilting, and attending Whitehall sporting events.
Being a mother and grandmother was the thing she valued most in life. She cherished spending time with her family which brought her a lifetime of joy.
Susan is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard “Dick”; five children: Richard “Rick” (Sara) Teska of La Crosse, Theresa Teska of Onalaska, Julie (Alex) Hernandez of Onalaska, Kris (Troy) Pride of Whitehall and Kathy (Chris) Larson of California; 11 grandchildren: Cullen, Eva, Heath, Brandon, Kylie, Katie, Alyson, Jordan, Brett, Maria, Emily and seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary (Ted) Twesme of Las Vegas, NV; and a brother, Michael (Candace) Stellflue of Wisconsin Dells.
In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by an infant son, Joe; two sisters: JoAnne Kern and Betty Ingham; and two brothers; Thomas and Robert Stellflue.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, December 1, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at Saint John’s Catholic Church in Whitehall, with burial at Lincoln Cemetery. Father George will officiate.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall with a Christian prayer service and rosary at 6:30 p.m. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Susan’s family would like to thank all friends and family for their support during this time. And a special thank you for the loving care she received from the staff at both the Pigeon Falls Health Care Center and St. Croix Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Saint John’s Catholic Church.
