Arcadia duo helps Raiders beat Norse in boys hoops
The Arcadia High School boys basketball team had two players finish with double-doubles last week Monday to energize the Raiders in their tight win over a fellow Trempealeau County opponent at Whitehall High School.
Ted Teske had himself a night for the visitors, scoring a career-best 22 points — including a dunk — and snatching 13 rebounds to record a double-double. Teammate Maverick Drazkowski also hit double digits in numerous statistical categories with a 17-point, 11-rebound performance.
Arcadia held a slight 31-27 advantage at halftime behind 10 points from Teske, but Whitehall was within reach thanks to a nine-point half from senior Seth Lambeck.
The Raiders did enough in the second half to hold off another tight push by the Norse, which were led by Lambeck’s 18-point night.
Junior Caydan Johnston added 12 points for the Norse, who continue to lead the Dairyland Large Conference.
Arcadia, now 7-7 this season, was scheduled to play a pair of Coulee Conference games this week beginning with a visit to Black River Falls on Tuesday before they host Westby on Friday.
