Indees fall to Pirates in last regular season game
In its first game in more than a week, the Independence/Gilmanton boys basketball team had a solid start, but the top team in the Dairyland Conference quickly took control and won 79-60.

The Indees, playing at home in Gilmanton, were close early. Carlos Flores scored inside while being fouled to make the score 8-6 in the opening minutes. The Indees had chances to tie the game, but couldn’t capitalize.
C-FC eventually kicked it into gear, scoring 17 of the next 21 points in the game to take a 25-10 lead. The Pirates had a 39-21 advantage at halftime.
I/G got back within 14 early in the second half, but C-FC responded by scoring five straight. The teams went back and forth for most of the second frame, but the Indees were never able to seriously challenge the Pirates.
C-FC had four players score in double figures, led by Cameron Lipinski’s 20 while Porter Ehrat scored 17, Drew Wicka finished with 14 and Reed Schmidtknecht added 10. The Pirates shot about 48 percent from the field.
The Indees had a solid offensive performance, especially with 39 points in the second half as the team shot about 43 percent from the field. Brandon Sylla scored a team-high 18 points while Carlos Flores added 14.
