Five games in six days kept the Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School baseball team occupied last week.

The Red Hawks finished the week 1-4, earning their first Coulee Conference victory in the process.

Four more games are on the schedule for G-E-T this week — Altoona hosted the Red Hawks on Monday, and rival Arcadia was set to visit on Tuesday. Another county opponent, Blair-Taylor, will travel to G-E-T on Thursday before G-E-T gets a crack at Westby on the road on Friday.

Mauston 7 G-E-T 3

A six-run third inning for Mauston resulted in a victory for the hosts last Monday.

Both teams finished with seven hits, but untimely walks and errors helped the Golden Eagles to victory.

Ben Hansen hit 2-for-3 with a double for G-E-T, which saw three pitchers split time on the mound. The Red Hawks struck out four batters and walked three, allowing a trio of earned runs.

G-E-T 5 West Salem 1

Multiple players stacked together hits for the Red Hawks in their Coulee Conference opener last Tuesday.

Four Red Hawks managed at least a pair of hits for the visitors, and the G-E-T pitchers allowed only three from the Panthers.

Wyatt Hanson went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI at the plate for the Red Hawks, who also got two hits apiece from Hansen, Nathan Holthaus and Nick Crum.

The Red Hawks took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, adding two more in the top of the third before building their lead to 5-0. The hosts stopped a shutout with a run in the bottom of the sixth.

Ben Filla pitched six innings for G-E-T, allowing three hits while throwing eight strikeouts. Holthaus pitched the final inning and struck out two of the three batters he faced.

Tomah 5 G-E-T 4

A seventh-inning rally scored one run but couldn’t bring the Red Hawks to victory in a home loss to the Timberwolves last Thursday.

Tomah built a 4-2 lead through three innings but G-E-T stayed close, scoring one run on a Hansen single in the bottom of the seventh for the final 5-4 score.

Calvin Davis finished with two hits for the Red Hawks. Davis joined Caiden Brady on the mound as the pair gave up nine hits while striking out five Tomah batters and walking two.

Viroqua 10 G-E-T 0

The defending Coulee Conference champs had their bats working early in a Friday win in Viroqua.

Viroqua needed just five innings to collect 12 hits and 10 runs as four different players finished with multiple hits for the hosts.

The Red Hawks were restricted to two hits in the loss.

PdC 5 G-E-T 0

Prairie du Chien held G-E-T to just one hit in Saturday’s game.

Prairie du Chien opened the scoring in the second inning, adding five more runs in the bottom of the fifth.

Filla and Myles Marley split pitching duties for G-E-T and gave up zero earned runs. The duo struck out four Prairie du Chien batters while walking two others.

Bryce Lenzendorf threw the near no-hitter for the hosts, striking out three and walking one.
