Phyllis J. Pampuch
Phyllis J. Pampuch, 86, of Tomah, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Phyllis was born September 10, 1937, to George and Anna (Kampa) Halama in Independence. Phyllis married Ralph Pampuch, the absolute love of her life, May 10, 1958. Together they had four children: daughter, Deborah Nicksic; son, Glenn Pampuch (Kim Quist); son, Mark Pampuch (Patty Doyle) and daughter, Sally Gosda (Jeff Gosda). She also had 15 wonderful grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Phyllis’s career in life was her family. Her whole life revolved around her husband and children, and later grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a beautiful gift of listening with love and interest and was the one everyone would go to, knowing she was always on their side. She also was known for her wonderful and unique sense of humor that she kept until the end, making everyone laugh and cry at the same time.
Phyllis was an extremely devoted member of Queen of the Apostles Parish for more than 50 years. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, and painfully missed him for the rest of her life. Phyllis will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.
Special thanks goes to the staff at Liberty Village, Tomah Hospital and the Mayo Clinic in La Crosse, who have shown incredible professionalism, kindness and compassion for Phyllis and her family.
Everyone who knew Phyllis is asked to celebrate her wonderful life in their own way. In addition, her family asks that you perform an unsolicited act of kindness in remembrance and tribute.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, July 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Queen of the Apostles Parish in Tomah. Monsignor Steven Kachel officiated. Burial followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Tomah. Family and friends were invited for visitation on Monday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service with a rosary that began at 9:30 a.m., at the church.
