Joseph “Joe” D. Baardseth

Joseph “Joe” Dean Baardseth, 63 wonderful years old and a lifelong resident of Galesville, passed away in his home, unexpectedly, September 28, 2024.

Joe was born June 7, 1961, to Marvin and Rosemary Baardseth. Joe loved life and throughout his time, never met a stranger — he could spark up a conversation with anyone.

Family meant everything to him, and he was an extraordinary husband, father and brother. Joe was overjoyed to welcome the upcoming birth of his first grandchild, Josie Jo. His best buddy and canine companion, Dozer, loved being his copilot. A hardworking man, Joe owned and operated JB Excavating which he leveraged to serve his community. Joe was a passionate hunter and spent much of his free time outdoors at the family cabin dedicated to his hobby. He was president of the Galesville Trout Club for over a decade and took great pride in organizing the annual Kids’ Fishing Day.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Beth (Hobbs); daughters: Nikki and Haley (Colin); sons: Kody (Jennifer) and Kollin; his brothers: Donald (Peggy), David (Linda), Jerry (Kathy), Kerry (Joan); and sister, Linda. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, along with their children. Joe gained lifelong friendships, especially his neighbor, Bob, who he thought of as a son. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Rosemary Baardseth.

Special thanks to Zwickey Funeral Homes, Tri-State Ambulance, Gale-Ettrick First Responders, Galesville Police Department, and Trempealeau Sheriff’s Department.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, October 6, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Arctic Springs Shelter, Galesville. Please come share memories and beers as we celebrate a wonderful man.
