Norse close with loss to ECI

The Whitehall volleyball team fell to the top team in the conference in its final match of the regular season on Thursday.

Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran finished conference play with a perfect 10-0 record, including Thursday’s sweep in Whitehall. The Norse went 5-5 in DC play and 12-12 overall.

Whitehall opened Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association regional play with a match against DC rival Melrose-Mindoro. Whitehall, the seventh seed in its Division Four bracket, swept (10) Mel-Min twice during the regular season, beating them in conference play and in a tournament.

The winner of that match will face another DC team, second-place (2) Cochrane-Fountain City on Thursday with the regional final set for Saturday.
