G-E-T comes up short against Logan, Luther
The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau girls basketball team put together their two best scoring outputs of the season to this point over the past week, but it wasn’t enough to get them in the win column.
The Red Hawks (0-5, 0-1 Coulee) continue the pursuit of that first victory with Coulee contests against Viroqua and at Black River Falls on Tuesday and Friday, respectively.
LC Logan 58 G-E-T 41
Despite scoring by far their most points of the season, the Red Hawks were unable to notch a win against the Rangers (1-3) last Tuesday in Galesville.
G-E-T sophomore Ava Lightfoot led all scorers with 20 points, while Logan’s Lillian Dettwiler tallied 12 points to finish as the only Ranger with double-digit scoring on the evening.
Luther 73 G-E-T 28
The Red Hawks fell to 0-5 on the season with a loss to the Luther Knights (3-1, 2-0 Coulee) to open G-E-T’s conference slate on Friday in Onalaska.
Leading scorers for G-E-T in the road loss were Halene DeJager with six points and the duo of Isabella Tibbits and Lorrisa Thompson with four points apiece.
Luther had four players finish in double figures scoring: Alexis Schmitz with 14 points, Allie Zittel with 13 and both Macie Neumeister and Cara Unke with 10 each.
