Lavonne C. Prudlick

Lavonne Claire Prudlick, born March 20, 1943, passed away June 14, 2025, surrounded by family.

Lavonne dedicated 26 years to the G-E-T Public School District, working as a teacher’s aide primarily with children who had special needs. She also opened her heart and home as a foster parent to nearly one hundred children and served as a host for foreign exchange students. Among them, Ramon Mitre held a special place in her heart.

Together with her husband, Ron, Lavonne ran a lawn care business that served families all across the area—a true team effort that reflected their strong work ethic and commitment to their community.

She was a dedicated member of Zion Lutheran Church in Galesville where she found deep connection and purpose through her faith and service. As part of a group of church women, she helped make quilts for those in need—a quiet but lasting act of love and generosity. Lavonne was a passionate gardener, a proud student of her Norwegian heritage, and a lifelong reader. Her home was filled with joy, love—and a whimsical collection of garden gnomes.

Lavonne is survived by her son, Ken (Sheila) of Maricopa, AZ; daughter, Rhonda (Greg) of Galesville, WI; and their adopted son, Jamez of Virginia Beach, VA. She is also survived by her grandsons: Jeremiah, Michael, and Cory; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Christian and Clara Sven; her stepmother Lottie; her husband, Ronald, who passed 17 years ago; and all six of her siblings: Clifford, Milan, Basil, Spencer, Roger, and Lillian (Liberti).

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, 20335 W. Gale Ave., Galesville. Pastor Joe Iverson will officiate. Burial will be in Old Whitehall Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
