Mark L. Luehne

Mark Levi Luehne passed away peacefully, August 26, 2025, during a brief stay at Gundersen Health System.

Mark was born to Richard and Velma [King] Luehne, March 23, 1964, in La Crosse. One of five siblings, he grew up in Holmen. Mark attended school in Holmen, graduating high school in 1982. After high school, Mark attended DeVry Institute in Chicago. He resided in the Chicago area for several years and that is where he met Tina. Mark and Tina moved from the Chicago area to Galesville in 1990, and purchased a property outside Galesville. They were married June 15, 1991, at their home. Mark was employed at Everbright Sign Company as a mechanical engineer for many years.

Mark was a talented guy who could fix just about anything. He was generous with his time and skills, helping his many friends and his family. If you needed advice on how to fix something, family and friends were known to say “just call Mark Levi.” He was apt to show up in person to help you with whatever needed to be done.

Mark had a sunny disposition, a laid-back style and a wry sense of humor. He was a lover of all animals and had numerous cats and dogs, many of whom were named after his tools, a favorite being Sawzall the Cat. Mark and Tina also raised Friesian horses on their property.

Mark is survived by his wife, Tina; sisters: Mona [Steven] Bordini, Mary [Mark Hoffmeyer] Luehne and Martha Stanley; and niece, Rachel Olson Kelley [Taylor].

Mark was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Michael; and his brother-in-law, Paul Stanley.

Mark’s family thanks Gundersen Health System for the care they gave Mark over the years. A memorial may be held at a future date.
